Scala sits above Amalfi and Positano - up in the hills, away from the strip. The kitchen is ours.

Our story
two friends. one kitchen.
We spent years in professional kitchens both in Italy and abroad.
At some point, we found ourselves drawn to something slower: the land, the garden, and the choice felt obvious.
Stop cooking for restaurants.
Start cooking for people.
Madreterra came out of that. A way to keep doing what we love, with people who come to eat well and have a good time.

Benedetto
Started his career as a chef in Amalfi, cooked his way through Italy, then spent four years in Paris between Michelin-starred kitchens.

Pasquale
Spent years in professional kitchens up and down the Amalfi Coast. At some point, cooking for tables he'd never sit at stopped making sense.
